Sweet Heart Applique

     Start your Valentine’s Day crocheting with these sweet crochet hearts. They only take about 3 minutes to make and use less than 3 yards of yarn. They will not only motivate you but they will make the perfect embellishment for nearly any project. Here are a few ideas on how to use them...

Ideas on how to use these appliques...
*These would be great to apply to any project or gift.
*You can add them to kitchen towels,
*turn them into a keychain or fridge magnet or paperclips.
*You can also make several and make a garland.
*Attach a ribbon to make them into bookmarks.
*Attach them to a hair tie for your little girl.
*You can also tie them to a lollipop to give out on Valentine's Day.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. 1.5"height x 1.5"length
...but they can vary based on yarn and hook size.

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 4.0mm (G)
*Worsted Weight Yarn: color of choice (3yds)
*Tapestry Needle

PATTERN NOTES - must read...
 Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate the total number of stitches.
 All the stitches are done inside the magic ring.

SPECIAL STITCHES
 Triple Crochet (trc) - Y/O hook twice, insert hook into stitch & pull up a loop (4 loops remaining), Y/O hook & pull thru 2 loops (3 loops remaining), Y/O hook & pull thru 2 loops (2 loops remaining, Y/O hook & pull thru the 2 remaining loops.
Tie them to a lollipop and hand them out on Valentine's Day to your kid's classmates or your coworkers.

HEART with color of choice
  Rnd 1: ch3, 3trc, 4dc, trc, 4dc, 3trc, ch4, sl st in magic ring
Pull as tightly as possible so no hole is showing through from the magic ring.
If you want to attach a lollipop to the back of the heart, don't cut off the ends. Instead, use them to tie the lollipop in place. If not, then proceed to... F/O, secure and weave in the ends through the back of your heart.
