BRAIDS
Cut 18 pieces of yarn (9 for each earflap) about 36 inches long. Fold each bunch in half and push the folded end through an opening in the bottom of each earflap. Pull the unfolded ends through the loop and pull tight. Braid the strands and tie a knot to secure the braid. Complete the second braid the same way.

ASSEMBLE
I recommend pinning the pieces before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing.
The placement of the soot sprites and stars is completely up to your preference. Feel free to get creative with their arrangement.
When sewing the soot sprites, be sure to embroider the little motion lines around them for added detail and character.
For the eyes, I used small circles of white felt. The pupils were made using black embroidery floss using French knots. Once the eyes are complete, simply glue them onto the soot sprites.

SNOUT...place in the center between rounds 10 and 16 for the toddler size.
Place in the center between rounds 13 and 19 for the child/adult size.
EARS...place them on rounds 5 and 8 for both sizes.
EYES...using black yarn, embroider a line between rounds 9 and 10; 3 stitches wide for the toddler size.
Between rounds 11 and 12; 3 stitches wide for the child/adult size.
MOUTH...using black yarn, embroider the mouth on the snout.
