Pokeball Beanie (knit)

    Simple but yet very stylish; for boys and girls of all ages. You can comfortably wear it during any season depending on the yarn you used and the weather, of course. This is an easy-to-knit beanie if you know the basics knit, purl and k2tog.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
Child (6yrs - 10yrs) [19" to 20" head circumference]
Teen/Small Adult [20" to 21" head circumference]

Adult (men) [21" to 23" head circumference]

MATERIALS
*Worsted Weight Yarn: Red or Purple, White, Black, and Pink
*DPN's or Circular Needles: 4.5mm & 5.0mm
*Stitch Marker to mark your rounds
*Tapestry Needle

GAUGE
Using 5.0mm needles...  4.5 stitches x  6 rows = 1"
Don't forget to check your gauge.

PATTERN NOTES
  This pattern can either be knitted when making the hat or duplicate stitched on afterward; the choice is yours. Here's a great video on how to duplicate stitch: HERE.

STARTING the BEANIE

CO 80 (90, 90) sts on 4.5mm needles with main color yarn.

Place a marker and join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches.

Do ribbing (k1, p1) for 1 inch (approx. 6 rounds).

Change to larger needles and proceed knitting for 4 (4.5, 5) inches. This will give you approx. 27 (32, 37) rounds. Please follow the graph to know in which rows to do the color changes.

SHAPING the CROWN

  Rnd 1: k8, k2tog around

  Rnd 2 and all even rounds: knit around

  Rnd 3: k7, k2tog around

  Rnd 5: k6, k2tog around

  Rnd 7: k5, k2tog around

  Rnd 9: k4, k2tog around

  Rnd 11: k3, k2tog around

  Rnd 13: k2, k2tog around

  Rnd 15: k1, k2tog around

  Rnd 17: k2tog around

Leave a tail (up to 8"). You will use a tapestry needle to thread the tail through the last remaining stitches on your needle. After removing the needles from the stitches, pull tightly to close the top hole. Lastly, hide the tail inside and weave it in.

SPOTS for the master ball make 2

CO 32 stitches with 4.5mm needles

  Rnd 1: k around

  Rnd 2: K6, k2tog

  Rnd 3: K5, k2tog

  Rnd 4: K4, k2tog

  Rnd 5: K3, k2tog

  Rnd 6: K2, k2tog

  Rnd 7: K1, k2tog

  Rnd 8: K2tog

Cast off all stitches. Weave in the ends.

ASSEMBLE
     I recommend pinning the pieces before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing. (Most people prefer to use the yarn at the end of the finished pieces to sew them in place, but I use matching thread).

     EARS...lay out the beanie flat and find the position you like best.

GAUGE

3 hdc stitches x 2.5 rows = 1"

At the end of round 8, laying flat = 6.25" in diameter

BRAIDS
Cut 18 pieces of yarn (9 for each earflap) about 36 inches long. Fold each bunch in half and push the folded end through an opening in the bottom of each earflap. Pull the unfolded ends through the loop and pull tight. Braid the strands and tie a knot to secure the braid. Complete the second braid the same way.

ASSEMBLE

     I recommend pinning the pieces before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing.
      BUTTON... place it in the center of the beanie. Between rounds 9 and 13 for the toddler size.

Between rounds 11 and 15 for the child/adult size.

      SPOTS for the master ball... place them on the sides between rounds 5 and 8 or in the position you like best.

 Rnd 1: sc, hdc, sc, hdc, sc, hdc, sc in magic ring and join with an invisible join to the 1st st (7)

Pull as tightly as possible so no hole is showing through. F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

BRAIDS
Cut 18 pieces of yarn (9 for each earflap) about 36 inches long. Fold each bunch in half and push the folded end through an opening in the bottom of each earflap. Pull the unfolded ends through the loop and pull tight. Braid the strands and tie a knot to secure the braid. Complete the second braid the same way.

ASSEMBLE
     I recommend pinning the pieces before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing. (Most people prefer to use the yarn at the end of the finished pieces to sew them in place, but I use matching thread).
     EARS...there's no need to stuff them, simply flatten them out and place them....

toddler: between rounds 5 and 6.

child/adult: between rounds 6 and 7.

     CHEEKS...place them between rounds 12 and 14; approx. 3.5" apart for toddler size.

Place them between rounds 14 and 16; approx. 4.5" apart for child/adult size.

     EYES...place them between rounds 7 and 9; approx. 1.75" apart and approx .75" inward from the cheeks for toddler size.

Place them between rounds 9 and 11; approx. 3.8" apart and approx .75" inward from the cheeks for child/adult size.

     NOSE... find the center between the eyes and place it between...

toddler: rounds 11 and 12.

child/adult: rounds 12 and 13.

     PUPILS...using white felt make 2 small circles and place them on the black crochet circles.

     MOUTH...child/adult size: using black thread or embroidery floss to make its mouth on round 14 for the toddler size and round 15 for the child/adult size. You can play around with it and make it however you like, the possibilities are endless.

Pikachu Slippers (child/teen size)

     Pikachu, I choose you! Make the right decision and make these adorable slippers. They'll bring so much joy and friendship to anyone that wears them. Pikachu promises to keep your feet warm no matter what battle faces you.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
These slippers fit someone with an 8.5" foot or a 3US Kids shoe size
You're able to easily customize the slippers by adding less or more rounds/rows to fit someone with a smaller or larger foot (indications on how to do so are below on row 15-24).

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 3.75mm (F) or size needed to obtain gauge
*Worsted Weight Yarn: Yellow (155yds) & Black (8yds)
*Felt: Black, White & Red
*Fiberfill (optional)
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds
*Tapestry Needle
*Matching Thread
*Hot Glue

GAUGE 8stitches x 5rows = 2"
Don't forget to check your gauge.

PATTERN NOTES - must read...
 Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate the total number of stitches.
 Always use stitch markers to mark your rounds.

You can make the slippers smaller or larger by simply making fewer rows or adding more rows at this point.

  Rnd 25: ch1 and sc along the top as indicated in the picture below but in each corner put 2sc. This will give the slippers a finished look.
  Rnd 26: ch1, sc in each st around
F/O and leave about a 36" strand of yarn (it will be used for sewing the back of the slipper together in the assembling process).

  Rnd 4: 2sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts around, in last st change to yellow (8)

  Rnd 12: sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog around, sl st into 1st st (6)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.


ASSEMBLE
    I recommend pinning the pieces in place before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing. (Most people like to use the yarn at the end of the finished pieces to sew them in place, but I personally like to use matching thread).
    TIP...For anything that I’m going to be using felt, I like to first sketch it out on a white paper and make a stencil of what I need. Then cut it out. Then tape the stencil to the felt and cut it out.
     SLIPPERS...turn your slipper inside out. With a tapestry needle and by using the whip stitch seam, sew the back of the heel with the long strand of yarn we left. Secure and weave in the end.

     When sewing anything on booties or slippers, I like to stuff the front with tissue paper or fiberfill because this helps me to better sew the pieces in place and they won’t end up uneven. After everything has been sewn and/or glue in place just remove the tissue paper or fiberfill.
     EARS...you can stuff them lightly if you like or simply flatten them out. If you decide to flatten them, they won't be droopy at all. Place them diagonally on the 2 final rounds we made at the end of the slippers (round 25 & 26).

     EYES...using black felt make 2 circles and another 2 using white felt but make these much smaller. Place the black circles on round 10; approx. 1.25" apart. The tiny white circles go on the top of the black circles. Repeat the same process with the other slipper.

     CHEEKS...using red felt make 4 circles. You'll want them to be a bit bigger than the eyes (the black circles). Place them on round 8 and 9 just right beneath the eyes on the sides.

     MOUTH...using black thread or embroidery floss make the mouth in round 7. You can play around with it and make it however you like, the possibilities are endless. If you would like to make the mouth as shown in the main picture, follow these simple steps below (click on each image to enlarge).

     NOSE...just right above the mouth make a tiny vertical line with black thread or embroidery floss.
