Sequin Bow Applique

Ideas on how to use these appliques...
*These would be great to apply to any project.
*You can add them to kitchen towels,
*turn them into a keychain or fridge magnet.
*You can also make several and make a garland.
*Attach a ribbon to make them into bookmarks.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. size: 0.62"H x 1.75"L
...but can vary based on yarn and hook size.

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 2.0mm
*Lace weight yarn: color of choice
*Tapestry Needle
*Paperclip (optional)

PATTERN NOTES
  Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate the total number of stitches.
  Always use stitch markers to mark your rounds.
  You ALWAYS do the first stitch where you sl st from the previous round.
  The ch2, at the beginning don’t count as a stitch.


BOW with color of choice
  ch22, sl st into the 1st st to form a ring
  Rnd 1: ch2, hdc in each ch around, sl st into 1st st (22)
  Rnd 2-3: ch2, hdc in each st around, sl st into 1st st (22)
You can make the bow bigger by chaining more stitches at the beginning and by adding more rounds. F/O, secure and weave in the ends. With a strand of yarn, wrap several times in the middle of the bow and secure with a knot. Weave in the ends.


ASSEMBLE
     Add the paperclip where we wrap the yarn in the middle.

Heart Envelope Applique

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. size: 1.12"H x 1.12"L
...but can vary based on yarn and hook size.

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 2.0mm
*Lace weight yarn: color of choice
*Tapestry Needle
*Paperclip (optional)
*Hot Glue

PATTERN NOTES

ENVELOPE with white
  Rnd 1: ch10, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, ch1, turn (9)
  Rnd 2-9: sc in each st, ch1, turn (9)
  Rnd 10: front loops for this row only sk 1st st, sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog, ch1, turn (7)
  Rnd 11: sk 1st st, sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog, ch1, turn (5)
  Rnd 12: sk 1st st, sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog (3)
  Rnd 13: don’t turn your work, ch1 and sl st all the way around the envelope
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

HEART with color of choice
  Rnd 1: ch2, 2dc, 3sc, 1dc, 3sc, 2dc in magic ring (11)
Pull tightly to close. F/O, secure and weave in the ends.


ASSEMBLE
     Fold the front flap and sew the heart in place. Glue a paperclip on the back.

The Reggae Rasta Coin Purse

A small mother day's gift for my older sister.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. size: 4"H x 4"W but can vary based on yarn and hook size

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 4.0mm (G)
*Worsted weight yarn: Olive Green, Gold, Red & Black
*Tapestry Needle
*Zipper 16cm length
*Fabric of choice
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds

GAUGE - don't forget to check it...
9sts and 4 rows in double crochet = 2"

HOW TO DO A FRONT POST STITCH...
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc) - YO hook, insert hook under front post of st. YO hook, pull up a loop, three loops on hook. Y/O, pull through two loops on hook, twice.

PATTERN NOTES
  Always use stitch markers to mark you rounds.
  The ch3 in the beginning of each round ALWAYS counts as 1 dc

Carrot Applique

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. size: 3"H x 1.25"W
...but can vary based on yarn and hook size

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 3.25mm (D)
*Worsted weight yarn: Orange (8yds) & Green (3yds)
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds
*Tapestry Needle
*Embroidery Floss: Black
*Felt: Black
*Wite-out pencil (optional)
*Hot Glue (optional)
*Magnet (optional)

PATTERN NOTES

  You ALWAYS do the first stitch where you sl st from the previous round.

SPECIAL STITCHES
 Other side of the foundation chains - this VIDEO explains how to do this technique.

CARROT with orange
  Rnd 1: ch10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 chs, hdc in next 3 chs, dc in next 2 chs, 6dc in last ch, other side of the foundations chains dc in next 2 chs, hdc in next 3 chs, sc in next 3 chs, sl st into 1st st (22)
  Rnd 2: ch1, sc in next 10 sts, 2sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 10 sts, sl st into 1st st (24)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

STEM with green
Attach the green yarn on the 13th st and ch 5, sl st into 2nd ch from hook and across.
ch 6, sl st into 2nd ch from hook and across.
ch 6, sl st into 2nd ch from hook and across.
Finally sl st into the 13th st again and you should have 3 leaves.
F/O, secure and weave in the ends
ASSEMBLE
     EYES...with black felt, make 2 small circles for the eyes. If you have a hole puncher, use that it makes perfect little eyes. With white thread make little circles in the middle. (If you find it difficult to make them with white thread you can use a wite-out pencil). Glue the eyes in place.
     SMILE...with black embroidery floss or thread, embroider the smile.

TIPS: You can play around with the eyes and mouth, make them anyway you like, the possibilities are endless. You can find lots of cute ideas by searching online anything between the lines of “kawaii face”.
You can also add a little blush underneath the eyes with a q-tip.
