*Crochet hook size: 3.0mm
*Worsted Weight Yarn: Ivory (3yds), Lime Green or Red (2yds) & Brown (1yd)
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds
*Tapestry Needle
*Matching Thread
*Felt: Green & Brown (optional for leaf and stem)
*Hot Glue (optional)
PATTERN NOTES - must read...
Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate the total number of stitches.
Always use stitch markers to mark your rounds.
There's no need to sl st and/or ch when going to the next round unless stated to do so.
APPLE starting with ivory
Rnd 1: 6sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: 2sc in next st around (12)
Rnd 3: sc in next st, 2sc in next st around (18)
Rnd 4: sl st in the next st, ch1, dc in the next st, 2dc in the next st, hdc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 4 sts, sl st in the next st, sc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, dc in next st, sl st into the 1st st (21)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.
Rnd 5: attach the red or lime green yarn to where we sl st from the previous round sc in next 2nd st, 2sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts, 2sc in next st, sl st in next st, 2sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts, 2sc in next st, sc in next st, sl st into 1st st (24)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.
STEM with brown
ch4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (3)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.
ASSEMBLE
I recommend pinning the pieces in place before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing. (Most people like to use the yarn at the end of the finished pieces to sew them in place, but I personally like to use matching thread).
TIP...For anything that I’m going to be using felt, I like to first sketch it out on a white paper and make a stencil of what I need. Then cut it out. Then tape the stencil to the felt and cut it out.
Sew the stem to the top of the apple.
Using green felt, make a leaf and glue on one of the sides of the stem.
With black yarn embroidery 2 tiny seeds in the position you like best.
