Round Plush Jake the Dog

For those who love cute things, Jake the Dog is the perfect size to hold on your palm or attach to your bag as a keychain and be your traveling companion. You can also make a small blanket and attach him to make a lovey for your little one.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. 3"height x 3.25"length

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 3.5mm (E)
*Worsted Weight Yarn: Gold (46yds)
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds
*Felt: Black & White
*Fiberfill
*Tapestry Needle
*Matching Thread
*Hot Glue

PATTERN NOTES - must-read...
Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate the total number of stitches.
Always use stitch markers to mark your rounds.
There's no need to sl st and/or ch when going to the next round unless stated to do so.
Always do the 1st stitch where you slip stitch from the previous round.
The chain, in the beginning, does NOT count as one stitch unless stated otherwise.
You slip stitch on the first sc, not on top of the chain 1.

HEAD/BODY with gold
Rnd 1: 6sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around (12)
Rnd 3: sc in next st, 2sc in next st around (18)
Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next st around (24)
Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in next st around (30)
Rnd 6: sc in next 4 sts, 2sc in next st around (36)
Rnd 7: sc in next 11 sts, 2sc in next st around (39)
Rnd 8-13: sc in each st around (39)
Rnd 14: sc in next 11 sts, sc2tog around (36)
Rnd 15: sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog around (30)
Rnd 16: sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog around (24)
Start stuffing the head/body moderately firm.
Rnd 17: sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog around (18)

F/O and leave a tail for closing. Add any bits of stuffing need it to finish shaping the head/body. Weave in the tail through the final round and draw up tight to close. Secure and weave in the ends.

FEET with gold; make 2
Rnd 1: 5sc in magic ring (5)
Rnd 2: *sc in next st, 2sc in next st* repeat from * to * 1 more time, sc in last st (7)
Rnd 3: working in back loops for this round only sc in each st around (7)
Rnd 4: sc in each st around (7)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

ARMS with gold; make 2
Rnd 1: 5sc in magic ring (5)
Rnd 2-3: sc in each st around (5)
Rnd 4: sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts (4)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

Note: lightly stuff as you go along.
MUSTACHE LOOKING THING with gold
Rnd 1: 7sc in magic ring (7)
Rnd 2-3: sc in each st around (7)
Rnd 4: sc in next st, sc2tog, sc in next st, sc2tog, sc in next st (5)
Rnd 5-8: sc in each st around (5)
Rnd 6: sc in next st, 2sc in next st, sc in next st, 2sc in next st, sc in next st (7)
Rnd 7-9: sc in each st around (7)

EARS with gold; make 2

F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

TAIL with gold
Row 1: ch5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 chs (4)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

ASSEMBLE
I recommend pinning the pieces in place before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing. (Most people like to use the yarn at the end of the finished pieces to sew them in place, but I personally like to use matching thread).
TIP...For anything that I’m going to be using felt, I like to first sketch it out on a white paper and make a stencil of what I need. Then cut it out. Then tape the stencil to the felt and cut it out.
FEET...if you haven't already stuff them lightly. Place them between round 15 and 17; approx 1.25" apart.

ARMS...no need to stuff them. Align them to the feet and place them on round 11 and 12.

MUSTACHE LOOKING THING...place it between round 10 and 13.

EARS...place the ears on round 3 of the head/body. You will only be sewing the top portion of the ear and leaving the rest unsew.

TAIL...place it on the back on round 16.

NOSE...using black felt make a rounded rectangle and place it on the center of the mustache thing.

EYES...using black felt make 2 circles and another 2 using white felt but make these much smaller. Place the black circles on round 8 and 9; approx. 1" apart. The tiny white circles go on the top of the black circles.

Finn the Human Earflap Beanie

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
Child (20" - 21.5" head circumference) nice stretchy fit
This same pattern fits a teen and adult with a small head (it fit me, nice snug fit)

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 5.0mm (H)
*Worsted weight yarn: White (90yds), Light Blue (55yds) & Beige (6yds)
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds
*Felt: Beige, White, Red & Pink
*2 black buttons with a diameter of 2cm
*Tapestry needle
*Matching Thread
*Hot glue

GAUGE
At the end of round 8, laying flat = 6.75 inches in diameter.
Don’t forget to check your gauge.

PATTERN NOTES

Row 5: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (10)
Row 6: sc2tog, sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog, ch 1, turn (8)
Row 7: sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (8)
Row 8: sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog, ch 1, turn (6)

2nd Earflap with light blue
Count to the right 23 sts (that’s including the 12 sts from the 1st earflap). Attach to the 24th st.Repeat rows 1-10 from 1st earflap.
Don’t F/O. Continue to make the edging.

EDGING with light blue
ch 1, turn, sc in each st around; working evenly around each earflap. Remember to mark your round with a stitch marker. Do another round of sc around the entire beanie. Join with a sl st into the 1st sc to give it an even finish.F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

EARS with white; make 2
Rnd 1: 8hdc in magic ring (8)
Rnd 2: sc in next st, 2sc in next st around (12)
Rnd 3-7: hdc in each st around, sl st into 1st st (12)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

BRAIDS
Cut 18 pieces of yarn (9 for each earflap) about 30 inches long. Fold each bunch in half and push the folded end through an opening in the bottom of each earflap. Pull the unfolded ends through the loop and pull tight. Braid the strands and tie a knot to secure the braid. Complete the second braid the same way. I use 3 strands of each in light blue, white and beige color; you can use just one color or whatever combination you like.

ASSEMBLE
I recommend pinning the pieces in place before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing. (Most people like to use the yarn in the end from the finish pieces to sew them in place but I personally like to use matching thread).
EARS...stuff the ears very lightly so the stuffing won’t show through. Sew the ears between round 5 and 7.
For the face I will be sharing with you my sketch I made before I started cutting up the felt. I use this sketch to get my parts looking perfectly. Just cut the pieces and trace them into the felt. Follow the template below for the colors you need to use. You can either glue them in place with hot glue or sew them.

EYES...you will need 2 black buttons with a diameter of 2cm. As you can see in the above template I wrote down where to place them in the face. Follow the guide.
