Peppa Pig's brother George Plushie

By Janet Carrillo "damn it Janet, let's crochet!"
My one year old just loves Peppa Pig. It's kinda hard finding boy related items of Peppa Pig. Decided that I should make him a George. Plus he's the perfect snuggly toy to cuddle with at night.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. height from feet to ears 8"

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 3.5mm (E)
*Worsted weight yarn: Petal Pink (85yds), Turqua (35yds), Black (12yds) & small amounts of 2 darker shades of pink (5yds each)
*Fiberfill
*Felt: White, Black & Dark Green
*Fine Point Black Sharpie or Marker
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds
*Tapestry Needle
*Matching Thread
*Hot Glue

PATTERN NOTES - must read...

You slip stitch on the first sc not on top of the chain 1.

ASSEMBLE
I recommend pinning the pieces in place before sewing them to make sure you have them in the position you like best before sewing. (Most people like to use the yarn at the end of the finished pieces to sew them in place, but I personally like to use matching thread).
TIP...For anything that I’m going to be using felt, I like to first sketch it out on a white paper and make a stencil of what I need. Then cut it out. Then tape the stencil to the felt and cut it out.
HEAD & BODY...you will be sewing the body to the head between round 17 and 23. Keeping in mind that the flat portion of the head goes up. Where we work the decreases and increases is the bottom part.
EARS...there’s no need to stuff them, simply flatten them out. Place them between rounds 23 and 25 and approximately an inch apart. You will want to bend them a bit, so the middle portion is a bit inward.
LEG to SHOE...the part where we did the decreases on the shoe is the top part. Sew the leg on the top part of the shoe between round 8 and 11. Stuff the leg if you haven't already.
LEG to BODY...you will be attaching the legs between round 2 and 5 of the body.
TAIL...align the tail between the center of the legs. Place it in round 7 of the body. Only sew the tip of the tail, don't sew it completely.
ARMS...stuff them if you haven't already. Look at the arms, the fingers to be exact you’ll see how the front and back look different. Be sure to have both facing the same way when you sew them. Now that decide on which part will be facing outward, align them to the legs and place them on round 16 of the body.
NOSTRILS...place them on the snout between rounds 2 and 4.
EYES...using white felt make 2 circles and with the black felt make 2 slightly smaller circles. Glue the black circles unto the white ones. You will place the eyes between rounds 13 and 15 or play around with them ‘til you find the position you like best.
CHEEKS...place them between rounds 16 and 21. About 1/2" below the eye.
MOUTH...using the 2nd darker pink shade (the one we use for the nostrils), embroidery or slip stitch (with a smaller hook) the mouth just below the snout between round 13 and 14.
DINOSAUR...for this I went online and look up “George Pig” and enlarge the image a bit to be able to trace it onto white paper. Cut out the image, glue it on a dark green felt and cut it out. You will want to cut out 2 so you can glue them together and make it sturdier.
Now that you have your 2 dinosaurs cut out on the dark green felt. Before gluing them together, let’s add the teeth with white felt. I made tiny triangles and glue them to the back of one of my dinosaurs.
Using white felt, make 2 tiny circles for the eyes. Glue them in place. With the fine point sharpie or marker make a dot in the center for the pupils.
Glue the other dinosaur to the back to make it sturdier. You can either glue it or sew it unto George’s hand.

    1. Hello Mia.
Since were using a small hook to make George, you can go up a hook size or two to create Peppa. :)

  4. Thank you so much for this! My 3 year old son is obsessed with Peppa Pig. I just finished George using your pattern and I am having so much trouble finding a good Peppa pattern so I'm thinking I'm just going to mess around with this pattern and see if I can make it bigger to make a Peppa. My little boy will love this for Christmas!

    1. Hello there,
I'm glad to hear you enjoy the pattern. I suggest maybe going up a hook size or two since we are using a small hook for George. Hopefully with that you'll get a decent size for Peppa. 😊

    1. Hi Tine,
sc2tog means single crochet 2 stitches together. In all my patterns, you will always find a glossary at the very end on the pattern where you will find the meaning for every abbreviation I use. :)
