BRAIDS
Cut 18 pieces of yarn (9 for each earflap) about 36 inches long. Fold each bunch in half and push the folded end through an opening in the bottom of each earflap. Pull the unfolded ends through the loop and pull tight. Braid the strands and tie a knot to secure the braid. Complete the second braid the same way.
ASSEMBLE
All that is left to do is adding the 2 oval buttons just like in the picture and sewing the ears on top of the beanie. There's no need in stuffing the ears just flatten them out.
You can easily turn the beanie into Minnie Mouse. If you need any help at all in making Minnie, don't hesitate to contact me.

ReplyDeleteOh I have been searching for something JUST like this! Only I need it for a toddler :( any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteI love this! I really want to make this for my nephew but he is a baby, any suggestions?
ReplyDelete@Mommy of four, hi. What I started doing lately with creating new beanies. I would work my rounds as usual but as I finish a round I would measure the diameter. By knowing the diameter then you can multiply that by pi (3.14) you would get the circumference of the beanie. Hope this helps. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this great pattern! In the beanie row 8 finishes with 64 stitches and then 9-14 states to hdc in each stitch around but says there are to be 68. Do I add four stitches somewhere in row 9 to accomodate for this? Thanks!
ReplyDelete@ewatts, Sorry I just notices that and correct it. It's suppose to be 64sts all through the rest of the beanie. Sorry once again. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful stuff! Thanks for your generous sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Crocheting.
Thanks Nora. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Thanks!
ReplyDelete@Anniegurumi, glad to hear you like it. :)
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern to the matching scarf in the photo? I can't wait to make this! Thank you.
ReplyDelete@Michelle Wyatt,
ReplyDeleteAt first, I was like what scarf. hahha...
I'm assuming you mean the one in Ravelry. For the pattern on that you would need to click on the image and then click on view elenipla's Mickey Mouse Beanie with Earflaps. Ask elenipla about that.
