Butterfly Applique

 Ideas on how to use these appliques...
*These would be great to apply to any project.
*You can add them to kitchen towels,
*turn them into a keychain or fridge magnet.
*You can also make several and make a garland.
*Attach a ribbon to make them into bookmarks.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. size: 1.0"Height x 1.0"Length
...but can vary based on yarn and hook size.

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 2.0mm
*Lace weight yarn: color of choice
*Tapestry Needle
*Paperclip (optional)
*Hot Glue

PATTERN NOTES
  Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate the total number of stitches.
  Always use stitch markers to mark your rounds.
  You ALWAYS do the first stitch where you sl st from the previous round.
  The ch2, at the beginning don’t count as a stitch.

SPECIAL STITCHES
  Triple Crochet (tr) - Y/O hook twice, insert hook into stitch & pull up a loop (4 loops remaining), Y/O hook & pull thru 2 loops (3 loops remaining), Y/O hook & pull thru 2 loops (2 loops remaining, Y/O hook & pull thru the 2 remaining loops.


BUTTERFLY
  Rnd 1: sl st, ch3, 4tr, ch3, sl st, ch3, 4tr, ch3, sl st, ch2, 3dc, ch2, sl st, ch2, 3dc, ch2, sl st into magic ring
F/O, secure and weave in the ends. Not too tightly, wrap the beige yarn 4 times around the middle of the butterfly. Make a knot or two on the top to secure it and to make the antennas. Trim the antennas if necessary.


ASSEMBLE
     Glue a paperclip on the back.

      No starting chain.
      All the stitches are done inside the magic ring like indicated in the pattern.
